The Roller Coaster Capital of the World

Cedar Point is an amusement park located on a penninsula that juts into Lake Erie, in Sandusky, OH. With seventeen coasters to choose from, including some of the world's tallest and fastest, Cedar Point really is the Roller Coaster Capital of the World.

I have been to Cedar Point on three seperate occasions, and have never once been let down by this getaway. Not in the mood for thrill rides? You can also take a stroll along the white sand beach of Lake Erie, rent jet skis, try their unique restaurants, or browse their shops. Soak City is always another option. Though it is not included in the price of admission for Cedar Point, it is conveniently located right next door if water rides are more your style.

Located between the towering rides and roller coasters of Cedar Point and the cool refreshing waters of Soak City, Challenge Park is the place to go if you are looking for arcade games, mini-golf, the all-new Skyscraper ride, as well as the popular RipCord SkyCoaster, where  flight-suited riders are tethered to a stainless steel aircraft cable and pulled upward from one of the ride's twin launch pads to the top of an enormous 15-story launch tower. Once there, a designated flyer is instructed to pull the rip cord, sending the tethered group zooming down to within six feet above the ground below at speeds of up to an incredible 65 mph!

Cedar Point is open daily from May through August, and also on the weekends until November.

The reason this park stands out compared to all the others is because I have never known Cedar Point to have too much of a wait to get on rides, and their park is extremely well taken care of. The staff at Cedar Point are all trained professionals, and I feel safe putting my safety in their hands. If you ever get up to the Sandusky area, you have to go check this place out!

I was born in Cleveland and my family always went to Cedar Point. I haven't been since 1968 however. I'll bet I wouldn't even recognize it. I'd love to go again sometime.
