Why I Love Chihuahuas

If someone had told me that I would love the Chihuahua breed 10 years ago I would have told them they were crazy. I only say this because up until that time I had NO experience with the breed, and like anything else, it's really hard to know how you really feel about something until you've experienced it.
Well about 4 years ago I adopted a little female chihuahua stray ( yes I'm always a sucker for abandoned animals, much to the horror of my family)
I named her Hyphy ( my teens loved that) and Hyphy turned out to be an "apple head" chihuahua. Hyphy turned out to be one of the sweetest dogs I have ever had. She was kind, not yippy like I thought Chihuahuas were, and loyal to a fault. The only reason I don't have Hyphy anymore is because she became a "nursemaid" for my sister-in-law while she lived with us, and we ended up giving Hyphy to her ( they formed an exceptional bond)
So Hyphy not only gave us lots of joy but also befriended and loved many people, including my sister-in-law.
These are some of the reasons why I love Chihuahuas now. They are wonderful sweet dogs that think they are big dogs - but are in a little dogs body!
