A Quick Tip by RabidChihuahua

Today marks the tenth anniversary of Chuck Schuldiner's extremely untimely death from brainstem cancer, and I feel obligated to make a QT to honor the man.

Chuck Schuldiner helped pioneer and refine the sound known as "Death Metal" in the metal underground of the 80's, with his band Death (original incarnation known as Mantas, formed in 1983). Not only did Chuck help solidify the death metal genre, he took it to places in the early 90's that many other bands in the genre didn't. I've listened to MANY metal bands in the last six years or so, but I'd have to say that for a musician with more than 2-3 albums under his belt, Chuck was the only metal musician to create a sizeable amount of albums that practically never wavered in quality (I consider his only "hickup" the Death swansong "The Sound of Perserverance," while pretty decent, I think is too far removed from death metal). For those of you unfamiliar yet curious about Chuck's genius, I suggest you check out the Death albums "Human," "Individual Thought Patterns," "Spiritual Healing," and the Control Denied album "The Fragile Art of Existence."

RIP Chuck Schuldiner, you may be gone but you'll never be forgotten.

Just curious, did you ever listen to Death at all? If you're into that sort of music, then Death is some of the best you can get.
