When I was in high school, I used cliffnotes to get an edge on some of the classics that were assigned for reading. While I did agree with my teachers...that it did in fact deny me of some of the thrill of reading the book myself, i found myself using them more of a research tool to help with the papers than a quick fix to not reading last nights assignment.

They are beneficial in that key points are highlighted. You get a synopsis of the book, main points and is helpful as a study guide

Fun to use as a book supplement or for school projects. Teachers always knew when I used CliffNotes!
