I love Craftsman tools and if you need something to get started, then you will love this little set of 302 piece mechanics tool set. Because, this set is the small one, it can be found at Sears and maybe even K-Mart and even Ace Hardware for only $250.00. You used to be only able to find these at Sears but, since they have merged with a whole bunch of different store such as K-Mart and Ace Hardware the availability is tremendous.

The prices and warranty still remain the same no matter which store that you go to. If you were to purchase any Craftsman product at any of these retailers, you will not need a receipt just take it back to the store and they will replace the product. This set has those quick release ratchets and a basic mixture of wrenches and other tools that will help you get started.

Description
This 302 mechanics piece is made of hardened chrome steel and all of the pieces are marked. This set will include the following size sockets, ratchets, and extensions and wrenches.

There is 6 point standard ¼" drive sockets sizes are:5/32”, 3/16”, 7/32”, 1/4", 9/32”, 5/16”, 11/32”, 3/8”, 7/16”, 1/2", 9/16”. Next is the 6 point Metric ¼" drive sockets sizes are: 4, 5, 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12,13, 14mm.
Here are the 12 point standard ¼"drive sockets sizes and they are: 3/16”, 7/32”, 1/4", 9/32”, 5/16”, 11/32”, 3/8”, 7/16”, 1/2", 9/16”. The deep well sizes are 6 point Deep Well standard ¼" drive sockets 3/16”, 7/32”, 1/4", 9/32”, 5/16”, 11/32”, 3/8”, 7/16”, 1/2", 9/16”.

The 6 point Deep Well Metric ¼" drive sizes are: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14mm.
The 12 point Deep Well ¼" drive Standard socket 3/16”, 7/32”, 1/4", 9/32”, 5/16”, 11/32”, 3/8”, 7/16”, 1/2", 9/16”.
The 6 point standard 3/8" drive sockets sizes are:1/4", 5/16”, 3/8”, 7/16”, 1/2", 9/16”, 5/8”, 11/16”, 3/4", 13/16”, 7/8”.
The 6 point Metric 3/8" drive sockets sizes are: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21mm.

Next you have the 8 point standard 3/8" drive sockets and their sizes are 1/4", 5/16”, 3/8”, 7/16”, 1/2". The next ones are the 12 point standard 3/8" drive sockets 1/4", 5/16”, 3/8”, 7/16”, 1/2", 9/16”, 5/8”, 11/16”, 3/4", 13/16”. Here are more sockets that are very useful 12 point Metric 3/8" drive sockets 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18mm. These deep well 6 point deep well 3/8" drive sockets are ¼", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 11/16", 3/4", 7/8".
Next is the 6 point Deep well 3/8" drive sockets 9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18mm.

The 12 point standard ½" drive sockets are next3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 11/16", 3/4", 13/16", 7/8", 15/16", 1", 1-1/16".
Next is the 12 point Metric ½" drive sockets and their sizes are9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22mm.
These are also very helpful the12 point standard deep well ½"drive sockets ½", 9/16", 5/8", 11/16", 3/4", 13/16", 7/8", 15/16", 1". You may also need the 12 point metric deep well ½" drive socketswhich are 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 22mm.

Then there is the Standard Combination wrenches which the sizes are¼", 5/16", 11/32", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 11/16", 3/4", 13/16", 7/8", 15/16". They also throw in some Metric Combination Wrenches and the sizes are 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19mm.
The screwdrivers are next and they are the Phillips Screwdrivers sizes (#0x2-1/2"), (#1x3"), (#2x4").
The Standard Screwdrivers are (1/8"x4"), (3/16"x4"), (14"x6").
This whole set will come inside of a cardboard box and all disorganized.

Other extras
There are 10 piece standard and metric ignition wrench sets, Magnetic Handle, 10 piece screwdriver bit set, 12 piece nut driver set, 20 piece standard and metric hex Allen wrench set, 5/8" x 3/8" drive spark plug socket.
Ratchets and Extensions
You get a ¼", 3/8", ½" thin profile ratchets, ¼" and 3/8" drive x 3" extension--6"x 3/8" drive extension--3"x 1/2"drive extension.
Experience
This is an excellent set to keep inside of your home or garage. All of these pieces together weigh less than thirty pounds, but there is no case to hold all of these pieces so you will have to purchase a small tool box. The ratchet and sockets are excellent if you think that you may need this for a repair on your car. There is only one problem with this set and that is that this has now way to organize everything, but little problem with this set can be solved by using a pencil cases or plastic pouch to minimize space. What I use is from the year before from our daughters schools supplies we use the pencil pouches since they give her a new one every year.

I have been using these tools for several years and not one time did these ever break or strip. They are made of hardened steel and are very durable. I have used these with a breaker bar and not broken any of them. I have left these under the hood of the car, kicked them around and even ran them over accidentally, started the engine up and heard a rattling around, when I found them, they barely had a scratch on them from hitting the fan blade. If you are using the right size these will usually fit snuggly at first, but if you do not keep them clean then the next time that you go to use them you will have a hard time fitting the socket on the bolt.

The really nice thing about this set is that it has both standard metric , you may very rarely use the metric sockets but when you happen onto one of these types of heads, you are happy that you have one of these types of sockets inside of your set. These sockets are probably the most used part of my tools because they are so handy. A lot of times I do not have time to go through all of my drawer looking for the exact size, instead I just grab one of the little pouch that are marked, which has an assortment of different sizes inside each one, and as long as I have remembered to put an extension and ratchet inside of the case then I have everything to make a repair.

Conclusion
To pay $250.00 is not a bad price for a set of tools as versatile as this one. You will be surprised at how much you will actually use this set. Just because it is so easy to grab this instead of searching for the right tool and making sure that you do not have to go back and search again if you are wrong. This one tool set that is a normal fixture inside of a lot of mechanics tool boxes at home or at work. I would highly recommend that you add these to you repertoire of tools, especially if you want to have a easier go of your job. Five stars for durability and versatility and ease of use.

The main thing to remember is that even if you just get this and it sits for a while, it will never lose its value. Just remember this the first time that you do not have to call someone out to do a repair on your house or car. You can simply do the repair yourself and keep the money in your pocket instead of giving it away.
