Craftsman Hex sockets will amaze you at how much you just reach and they are the first thing that you grab in a pinch. If you are a Craftsman fanatic such as the case with me, then you will love this little socket, this ¼" drive socket is found as Sears or K-Mart for only $2.99. You used to be only able to find these at any Sears but since they have merged with a whole bunch of different store such as K-Mart and Ace Hardware the availability is tremendous. The prices and warranty still remain the same. If you were to purchase any Craftsman product at any of these retailers, you will not need a receipt just take it back to the store and they will replace the product, no questions asked.

Description
This socket are ¼" drive sockets and will fit on all ¼" drive ratchets and are made of chrome plated mild steel to prevent rusting. Each of these sockets are shiny and have the size stamped on the side in a easy to read etching. This particular socket has a hex shape(6 point standard) to fit snuggly around all 7/32" nuts or bolts.

Experience
This is an excellent socket to keep inside of the kitchen drawer or the glove box of the car for emergencies. This socket will fit inside of the case to be able to fit on an extension or ratchet. The only problem with this socket is that it is free to roll around in the bottom of your drawer, but that problem can be solved by using a pencil case from the year before from your daughters schools supplies since they give her a new one every year, to keep all of your lose sockets in.

I have been using these name brand sockets for several years and not one time did these ever break or strip. They are made of hardened steel and are very durable. I have left these under the hood of the car accidentally, and started the engine up and heard a rattling around, when I found the socket they barely had a scratch on them from hitting the fan blade. If you are using the right size these will usually fit snuggly into the hex head bolt or nut without any slop.

The really nice thing about this socket, is that they do have the easy to read size etched on the base. These are probably the most used socket out of my tools because they are so handy. A lot of times I do not have time to go through all of my full size sockets looking for the exact size, instead I just grab this little pencil pouch which has an assortment of all of the different sizes and this is usually the size that I end up using. As long as I can remember I have had to put an extension and ratchet inside of the case then I have everything to make a repair.

Conclusion
This is not a bad price for a socket and as versatile as this one. You will be surprised at how much you will actually use this socket. Just because it is so easy to grab this instead of searching for the right socket and making sure that you do not have to go back and search again if you are wrong. Five stars for durability and versatility and ease of use. I can also give this five stars for the warranty, I have never had any problems when exchanging anything that said Craftsman on it.
