Craftsman Screwdriver Holder Will Work Better If You Mount It.

Organization in your toolbox is very important, but the only problem with that is, that you need a lot of drawers to do so. I love Craftsman tools and since I do, I try and teach and show myself how to keep my own tool box neat and get the most for my money. You will not only get quality, you will durability. This Craftsman Screwdriver holder can be found at Sears, K-Mart, and even Ace Hardware for only $6.99. Along time ago, you used to be only able to find these at Sears but, since then, they have merged with a whole bunch of different stores, such as K-Mart and Ace Hardware the availability is tremendous. The prices and warranty still remain the same no matter which store that you go to. If you were to purchase any Craftsman product at any of these retailers, you will not need a receipt, just take it back to the store and they will replace the product.

Description
This does not weigh very much, only about ½ a pound and is just about 16" x 16" and just over 7" from side to side. This also sits 1-1/2" high.  This starts out with holding small screwdrivers and long ones 8" long, to hold the shorter screwdrivers you place them on the outer edges and the large one can go in the middle. There is also two designated slots for two different offsetting screwdrivers, the slots or cut outs will hold 13 screwdrivers, this will fit in a 3" drawer better than the shorter drawers. The reason that this will have trouble with fitting inside of the shorter drawers is because it is 1-1/2" in height and when you put a screwdriver inside of the slot, all of the screwdrivers will lay in the same direction. This does have a handle and is made to be carried around, but it can be quite cumbersome. The screwdrivers do snap into place, they just sit in there slots and will not fall out when you are carrying this around. This also can be mounted to the wall for a sturdier fixture. This is totally made of plastic to prevent rusting and if you have a lot of screwdrivers it is hard to keep them all organized inside of the bottom of your drawer.

Experience
I have found this to be an excellent tool holder to keep inside of your deeper drawers. This holder all together weigh less than one pound with no screwdrivers inside of it, and is made plastic case so you do not have to worry about it rusting. There is enough room inside of the holder to hold standard or Phillips screwdrivers. There is the only one problem with this holder, but this little problem can be easily solved. The main problem is that if you do not put something underneath the holder then it will slide all over the place when opening and closing the drawers. I have found this to work a lot better if you were to somehow mount it on the wall or inside of the bottom of your drawer.

As long as you mount this to the inside of the drawer or on a wall, it will last a lot longer and not give you any problems when giving you easier access to you screwdrivers. I have been using these for several years and not one time since I put Velcro on the bottom of the holder, did these ever break or slip inside of the drawer. They are made of a very durable plastic. While using this for several years and have knocking them around a little bit, they have withstood a lot of abuse. I have left these under the hood of the car, kicked them around and even ran them over accidentally, and saw that they can only withstand this once or twice but I would not push my luck when it comes to this kind of abuse. If you stack right a couple of  these organizers on top of each other and they will usually fit snuggly at first inside of your deepest drawer.

The really nice thing about this is that it is made of plastic , and you may very rarely have to remove the whole rack out of their designated tool box. These screwdrivers are probably the most used part of my tools and because they are so handy I like to keep them in a neat line. A lot of times I do not have time to go through all of my screwdrivers and they do get rearranged from time to time, and also because my eyes are getting bad and the sizes are hard to read, so that is why it is nice to have them in a neat line and as long as I have remembered to put screwdrivers in the right slot inside of the holder, then I will have the correct size screwdriver in line to make a repair without having to search for the right one. I have tried to use this by setting the whole holder on the side of the car but it does not stay in place to well. Every time that I shake or bump the side of the car the organizer would fall off of the car and I would spend more time bending over to pick it up. This not only gets monotonous but very hard on your back.

Conclusion
This is not a bad price $6.99 for a holder as versatile as this one. You will be surprised at how much you will actually use this. Just because it is so easy to grab the correct screwdriver instead of searching all over the bottom of the drawer for the right one, if you have them organized 9 times out of 10 times you will grab the right screwdriver and it will be the proper one. As long as you know your different screwdrivers sizes and types, this will also makes your job a lot easier by making sure that you do not have to go back and search again if you are wrong. This is one tool that is a normal fixture inside of a lot of mechanics tool boxes, that like to keep some kind of organization inside of their boxes. I would highly recommend that you add this to you repertoire of tools, especially if you want to have a easier go of your job, and some kind of neatness to all of the tools inside of your drawers. Five stars for durability and versatility and ease of use.
