Laurie Perry, otherwise known as the knitting blogger Crazy Aunt Purl, has written a follow-up to her amusing debut, Divorced, Drunk and Covered in Cat Hair. Home Is Where the Wine Is follows Perry through her year of growth and self-enlightenment as she checks off items from her New Year's resolution list. It's also full of simple knitting patterns and even a recipe for fried zucchini.

I loved Perry's first book. She's able to catch the struggles of single thirty-something women with great humor. She didn't disappoint with her most recent book, either. I found myself laughing out loud during most of the book. She has a way of drawing you in as if you're one of her best girlfriends. She's easy to relate to. So many women have felt the same insecurities when first joining a gym (you'll love the reason why she has to switch locations one week into her membership). My friends and I have had the same discussions about feeling we should be further along in our lives at our age. I haven't made a vision board like she did but I do have to admit I thought about it once or twice.

This is a great read if you're feeling a bit unsure of yourself and where your life is headed. It's nice to know that others are right there with you. Perry is able to do that with a lot of laughter and some great knitting patterns, too.
