Superb!

Diana Damrau knocks each and every one of these arias and recitatives out of the ball park. She is truly a force in the world of opera and remains among the greatest sopranos of her generation and of all time. Her vocal dynamism, range, and control are utterly breath-taking. This album is a wonderful collection of beautiful music performed brilliantly by a truly great artist.

The Best Thing about This Recital ...

... is soprano Diana Damrau's eagerness to champion neglected repertoires, in this case the operas of the unfairly maligned Antonio Salieri and the utterly forgotten Vincenzo Righini, both of whom were contemporaries and rivals of WA Mozart. Righini and Mozart were both born in 1756.
