A Christian novel.

I don't normally read Christian novels, especially not Christian novels with a romantic spin on them. They tend to be too sterile for me. And while this wasn't any exception, I still read the whole novel in one sitting.

The story focuses on Wendy, a widowed mother of two struggling to keep her life in order after a divorce attorney moves a lodging business beside her small wedding chapel. She struggles with how to help her daughter, Brooke, newly separated from her husband, put her life back together even though Wendy's own life is still broken to pieces. Add in the addition of a father she never got along with, and Wendy's just about ready to explode.

But despite all of this, she finds a means to help not only herself, not only reconcile with her own very small demons, but find love as well.

It was a touching little novel. A little unbelievable at times, but most romance novels are. The writing was sterile and a bit dry, but every once in a while it got a smile out of me. It was enough that I still remember it a few days after, even though I've read other books since.

If this is your type of book, go ahead and go read it. You won't be disappointed. And even if you're not a fan, you still might enjoy this novel.
