Freecycling, or free recycling, is a term used to describe the act of giving away usable items that you no longer want or need as a means of keeping them out of a landfill.

Freecycling can be as simple as donating items to charity or having a "free" table at a garage or yard sale. In order to make freecycling more efficient, a number of organizations have sprung up to help people who want certain items connect with those who are giving them away.
