New Fullmetal a Transmuted Success!

When Fullmetal Alchemist entered the anime world a few years back, I doubt how many of us truly realised just how huge it was going to be. Now, the anime adaption of Hiromu Arakawa's smash hit manga is a mass success both in Japan, and all over the Western hemisphere. It certainly took the US by storm, with Vic Mignona, the voice of Edward Elric taking out the Best Actor award at the American Anime Awards!

However, no matter how much we loved our dear Elric brothers Ed and Al, we had pretty much accepted that, after The Conquerer of Shamballa, that their story had come to a close, and a pretty decent one at that. It seems, my friends, that we were wrong!

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood starts again from the very beginning of the Elrics' story, but don't for a moment think that its the same thing all over again, oh no! This new adaption of the anime is promoted to be keeping closer to the original story line of the manga, and previously 'manga only' characters will be making an appearance.

Admittedly, viewing for us westerners is somewhat limited at the moment, I myself have only managed to watch one episode, but it is definately so far so good with this new hit in the making!
The new theme songs might not be in the calibur of the wonderful L'arc~en~Ciel, but they're certaintly no slouch; light and fun and enjoyable to listen to, they definately hit the target that the directors were aiming for, and definately show Ed and Al's lighter, less angsty sides!

I have many high hopes for this new take on an old favourite, and I do not think it will disappoint. For newcomers to the series, or to anime in general, enjoy! for the rest of us... let's just hope they all end up on the same side of the Gate this time!!
