What are some good gifts to give someone who's hosting you for the holidays? Needs to be travel-friendly and not include alcoholic beverages. Thanks!

How long are you in the air/car for? You can give them a homemade cookbook (of your fave recipes) or a guide to the best eats in SF (if they like to come visit often), picture frame with a pic of you and the hosts (would have to carry it on but, it's small enough where you can do that and you can put a bunch of things in it- homemade coupons, tix a great show, recipes, etc), candles, chocolates, or organic shopping bag (for them to bring to farmer's markets or the store), and of course, Martha has some great ideas here, if you want to DIY!

I did make a 10 Great Host/Hostess Gifts List a while back, but true - most of those things will not travel well! Though the Organic Cranberry Green Tea or a relevant cookbook would do pretty well. Assuming the person likes tea, you could assemble a tea gift box with a variety of unique tea's - maybe even some from @ornleifs list of Afternoon Tea

Of course my advice is useless if the host does not like tea! I know something anyone would like, and you wouldn't even have to haul it with you, just have it shipped directly to the host/ess - Edible Arrangements. Delicious ready to eat fruit, great when you don't really know what to get.
