Men's Shaving Cream
Shaving is no doubt one of the least fun activities in a man's life. We some times go through a lot to have ourselves looking great for our women, and even for those women who aren't ours yet. We get cut, bruised, and battered for you ladies, and our faces on some occasions would look like we just came out of a fight with a hungry lion. And to make matters worst, the aftermath, all of those disgusting looking bumps and hills, that will make some great off roading for the little bugs who like to run on ours faces at night when we're sleeping. But thanks to Gillette shaving products, everyday or weekly shaving doesn't have to result in bloody war.
After being impressed by Gillette's original formula, Gillette Foamy, I saw this red and blue can looking all nice and pretty so I had to give it a shot, plus the fact it's a foam and not a gel (hate gels) also played a role in my decision. Like its sister product, Gillette Foamy Barbershop Fresh, is a very thick foam shaving cream, that helps deliver those really close and nice shaves in combination with some good blades, Mach 3 Turbo in my case. The cream is easy to manipulate, and it doesn't require much to spread around covering all areas intended to be shaved. It lathers up very well and the excess can be reused to go over areas if necessary. This cream has a lot in common with the original product. However, there's one small noticeable difference between the two; the original formula has a smell that resembles a soap, some compare it with Ivory. This particular cream has a more cologne like fragrance, which is on the musky side. It's stronger than the original and I find the smell to be nice. It does linger for a little while, but it eventually disappears as quick as it comes.
One little thing I noticed about the product though, and I'm sure it will differ from person to person. After using it four times already, I did notice a slight bit more irritation than usual when I apply the aftershave. I would get a smaller amount more burn than usual. It's nothing for me to complain about or to even consider dropping the product, since the end results are still just as good. My face is still smooth and I haven't suffered any type of razor burn.
The can still comes with pictured directions on how to shave for new shavers, as well as the usual caution label. And again, I highly recommend not leaving the can on your sink while wet, because the bottom may rust and ruin the finish on your sink. I learned this years ago through first hand experience.
Overall, this is another very good foam cream from Gillette, and I see myself using it again for a change in smell. But if you see yourself suffering from bad irritation, then it's best to stop because it might not be for you.
