Gojo Hand Cleaner is a heavy duty hand soap. It's meant as a hand cleaner for those who come away from very dirty jobs. The soap is very similar to the other heavy duty hand soap called Lava. I've been using Gojo now for almost two years, and recently, I come to appreciate it a little bit more than Lava.
Gojo Hand Cleaner comes in a 64 oz container (in this case) with a push down top and it's in a liquid form. The active ingredient is pumice, which happens to be a volcanic rock that solidifies after being ejected from a volcano. Whatever the hell could have made someone believe, that something like this would actually work as a hand cleaner is beyond me. Lava also uses this ingredient.
Gojo Hand Cleaner is used in its original form without the assistance of water. It has a lotion like appearance and it's very easy to massage with the hands. The soap has a grit like feel. It feels and looks like you're washing your hands with wet sand, and it doesn't get all soapy like other soaps. I never had the drive to use a washcloth, and I don't believe it's necessary either.
The soap breaks up the toughest materials on your hands. It's said to remove; grease, tar, and oil. I've used it with very satisfying results on oil, ink, paint, caulk, grease, plaster, grout, tar, and liquid nails. The soap removes the stuff off your hands and it washes off very easy. However, I will admit that the tougher the substance on your hands, the more you will have to use and scrub, but I don't recall ever having to over use the soap.
While drying my hands off, I found that I have to overdo it a little, because it gives off a feeling like it's still there, but that's a small gripe for me. The container can actually last you a very long time if you're not doing dirty jobs too often, and even then, if you manage it well enough the soap will still last for a long time.
Gojo also has an orange fragrance that gives you a fresh smell, unlike Lava which has practically no smell. But the smell isn't as good as lets say, Softsoap, which has a splendid smell that lasts for a little while. The only real issue I can think of is that the soap doesn't contain moisturizer. My hands always feel very dry after using it, that's how come I'll always use Softsoap after I'm down with it or a lotion.
Gojo Hand Cleaner has now become my favorite hand soap to use after dirty work. Normal hand soaps and even body soaps, will have me washing my hands longer than what I would like to. This gets the job done quite faster. Whenever I'm through getting my hands really dirty I go to either this or Lava. Recommended.
On a side note, I always pick this up at most of the local hardware stores. I don't remember ever seeing it at K-Mart or other stores like it.
Pros: -Cleans hands very well, nice orange fragrance
