The Purple Trip
So just as we re-visit one of our favorite colors, we re-visit one of our favorite umbrella strollers--the Inglesina Trip. It has been around for a while, which is maybe why some people forget to include it on their "Stroller Bucket List"--i.e. strollers to try, before it's too late.
First of all, we're talking Inglesina. Italian, people. One of the original companies known for their high style and quality. This is the company that produced the gorgeous Classica,
the innovative and practical Zippy,
From the fabrics to the frame to the wheels, Inglesina whispers "class". I say "whispers", because that is the hallmark of Inglesina's understated elegance. Shout? No, never.
But see here, the beautiful black matte frame. And how it contrasts with the vibrant purple.
Just a touch of color in the Ecru stripes, to coordinate.
which is also on the harness, and shoulder pads.
And the basket? Matches, of course.
But Inglesina is more than just form. It's also, always been about function. So lets start with the cupholder, that actually fits cups.
There's a side latch so that when you fold it, it automatically locks closed.
Look at the fingergrips on the handles. So pleasant to hold.
The wheels are bigger than most comparable sized umbrellas; which means it's outdoor performance is superior. Basket size is pretty good, too.
Here's a big pocket on the back of the canopy, for all of those essentials you want to have on hand.
By the way, these photos are showing the vexing dichotomy of trying to portray actual colors on strollers. Because under fluorescent lighting, this shade or purple looks more plummy. Yet in the outdoor sunlight, it looks more blue grey.
Anyway, here you can see the side strap that makes the Trip so easy to carry.
The canopy has a pull-out sun visor, that you can pull out for more coverage.
Of course, the peekaboo window allows you to check on your most precious cargo.
The legrest is adjustable--down for older children, up so the little ones can sit comfortably, or rest their legs.
And it's a wonderful stroller for sleeping, because there are FOUR recline positions.
Which means it also sits very upright.
The Trip is one of the few lightweight umbrella strollers that has a bumper bar. These are great because you can hang toys on them, or snack pouches. It gives little ones something to hang on to, so they can pull themselves forward. They also like to put their feet up on them, like a Barca Lounger. And this one is covered, so you don't have to worry about your teething child chewing through it it. It lifts up and down, and folds with the stroller. so it is soft and flexible, but you can see here how sturdy it is. Wonderful!
And value? Wow. Costs less than others in it's class, and the cup holder and rain cover are included!
The Trip folds nice and compact, umbrella style. So it's easy to throw it in a taxi, train, or airport security line. If you are worried about it getting dirty in the belly of the plane, you can get an optional travel bag,
or footmuff, which makes it the perfect choice for your late summer "Trips"!
