Country up-and-comer Jessica Rae is releasing a new music video today (Monday, Feb. 27) for her current single "24 Hour Church (in Memphis)." It's a folksy, acoustic track with a really fun melody that has been stuck in my head for a few days now.
Her voice kind of reminds me of a cross between Sarah Darling and Katie Armiger, both of whom I absolutely adore. She has a very pure tone with a touch of sweetness in her voice. Jessica Rae has opened shows for artists as contrasting as Josh Kelley and, in my opinion, rock & roll's most influential woman pioneer, Pat Benatar.
If you'd like to catch Jessica Rae perform and you live in the Chicago area, you're in luck. She's playing Joe's Bar on April 9 and will also be performing the National Anthem at the Bulls/Knicks game on April 10.
Her self-titled acoustic 12-track album is available now in her official web store, as well as on iTunes.
