is a wonderful book which explains the practitioner's connection to stillness, peace,
optimal posture, movement and continuous deep breath. People crave yoga due
to its relaxing atmosphere, mind/body connection, sense of timing, slowing down,
peace and a radiance of wellness within and with the world.

The practice of yoga is 3500 years old. Swami Bua, at age 105, wrote " Years may wrinkle
the skin, but lack of enthusiasm wrinkles the soul." His attitude evolved from learning
to be light-hearted through the practice of yoga. Gandhi was the penultimate yogi,
living his life simply and peacefully while changing the world. The energy within the
body is known in Sanskrit as Atman. Atman is each individual soul which began life
separated from God while spending time on earth in a continuous search for connectedness
to the divinity. Kama or longing is the driving force behind the world's religions and search
for spirituality and meaning.

The benefits of yoga are stress reduction, increased serotonin, decreased cortisol levels,
improved sleeping, reductions in blood pressure and easing of pain or sensations thereof.
Yoga teaches that each individual is pure energy, a light source, alive, compassionate and
loving. Yoga is a science of spirituality, a study of how to connect the body to the
larger perspective of spirituality. Yoga means union literally. The union is of the mind,
body and spirit.

The foundation of yoga is based on an innate sense of knowing. The feelings of the
moment are captured and expressed through movement and breath. A yogi knows
that intuition comes straight from the heart. As such, the heart speaks the truth.
Separaing truth from illusion is key to deepening the practice of yoga.
