The character of Juanita Solis has unexpectedly become one of my favorite characters on Desperate Housewives. As the oldest daughter of ex-supermodel Gabrielle and her businessman husband, Carlos, she is quite the rambunctious little four year old and constantly wreaks havoc in the Solis household, proving to be a handful for her mother.

Though Juanita is only four years old, her physical appearance leads people to believe that she is much older because she is overweight, which is often addressed in the series. For example, when shopping for a "princess dress", she doesn't fit in the largest size because according to the saleswoman, they "don't make princess dresses for girls over seven".

Here are a few of the instances that show the awesomeness that is Juanita Solis:

She played dress up in her Gabby's pricy Vera Wang dress and makeup.
When Gabrielle tries to trick her into exercising by having Juanita chase her car, Juanita gives up and sits on the curb. When a bus pulls up, she gives this wonderful, devious smile and boards the bus.
When she walks in on her parents having "blind sex" (Carlos was blind, and Gabby was wearing a blindfold), she quietly watches while sipping on her juice box until they're done.
After learning about the birds and the bees, she immediately shares the details with her playmates, causing her to get banned from future play dates.
When asked to do something by Gabby, she usually responds by sticking her tongue out or saying a blunt "no".
When told by Gabby that she can't have macoroni, she replies, "It comes in a box. It's not that hard".

I don't know how I'd feel about having Juanita as my kid, but as a TV show character, I'm loving her! I probably should also mention that she's also really adorable and beats up boys! Madison De La Garza, the nine year old who plays Juanita, is a wonderful actor and definitely has the part of the HBIC (in case you were wondering, that stands for Head Bitch In Charge) down. I can't wait to see the character development of Juanita in the next couple of seasons. Who knew that the new HBIC of Wisteria Lane would come in the form of a fierce, chubby, spunky, sassy, rambunctious, lil four year old? Shes got all those housewives beat!

True, but this little devious spoiled brat is any parent's nightmare ;-)! I'm seeing a lot of these "little princess" & "little emperors" in both the western societies as well as the Chinese societies. A worrying trend when one is seeing a hybrid now in the job markets. It's hard as it is to get the young employees to have better work attitude. I can imagine what these kids will be like when one day they enter the job market!!! It's not a good sign at all!

Yes, children are over protected and totally coddled these days! Well, if someone wants to be respected and have a good job, they're going to have to eventually learn to humble themselves and adjust. Survival of the fittest ;)
