I'm not a label person at all--but I 'm always looking for a bargain.
Trying to log some "walking" time on my lunch hour I stopped into Kohls (let me first admit my obviously wrong preconcieved notions about Kohls as a department store-lite catering to high-waisted jeans wearing soccer moms and tacky costume jewelry nanny types) and I was pleasantly surprised by the the Kohls' Simply Vera collection. I found a pair of jeans for $15--in a petite no less (I am super short and often look like I stole my dad's jeans). Wow Kohls and Vera Wang want me to look like I spent a lot of money on my jeans and that I actually have a tailor.
Coincidentally, I came back from lunch and stumbled across a blogger on SheFinds.comraving about the Simply Vera vintage T-strap shoes as well, she took photos of her own and posted them. They also made me drool, and made wish I had them to wear with my new jeans. Hmm, maybe I can check those out on my lunch today?
The moral of the story? I am either an on-the-cutting-edge bargain hunter, or entering early stages of soccer momdom, either way I'm totally jazzed about my new jeans and have to suggest that you throw your Kohls caution to the wind and check out the new Simply Vera.
Maybe I'll see you on your lunch break too.

Hmmm, I've always thought of Kohl's the same way, too, that's why I was surprised when I heard that Vera Wang was going to be doing a line for them. Glad to hear that the clothes are cute, though, and double glad that they carry pants for petite folks like us. And those shoes are adorable!
So "on-the-cutting-edge bargain hunter, or entering early stages of soccer momdom"? I say you're the former ;P
I totally forgot about Kohls when I moved out of NJ and to Boston, and then again to Los Angeles. It wasn't my favorite store but it was great for inexpensive basics and accessories! I'll have to hunt for one out here on the west coast...I could use some cheap socks and stuff! :)
