The Legend of Zelda‚Äč, occasionally called Legend of Zelda or Zelda is a high fantasy action-adventure video game series created by Japanese game designers Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka. It was developed and published by Nintendo, with some portable installments outsourced to Flagship/Capcom and Vanpool. Considered one of Nintendo's most important franchises, its gameplay consists of a mixture of action, adventure, and puzzle solving. The series centers on Link, the playable main character and protagonist. Link is often given the task of rescuing Princess Zelda in the most common setting of the series, Hyrule, from Ganon—also known as Ganondorf—who is the primary antagonist of the series. However, other settings and antagonists have appeared throughout the games, with Vaati having recently become the series' secondary antagonist. The story commonly involves a relic known as the Triforce, which is a set of three golden triangles of omnipotence. Link holds the Triforce of Courage, Zelda holds the Triforce of Wisdom, and Ganon holds the triforce of Power. The protagonist in each game is usually not the same incarnation of Link, but a few exceptions do exist.

As of April 2010, The Legend of Zelda series has sold over 59 million copies since the release of the first game, The Legend of Zelda, and continues to be successful worldwide. The series consists of 15 official games on all of Nintendo's major consoles, as well as several spin-offs. An American animated series based on the games aired in 1989, and individual manga adaptions which are officially endorsed and commissioned by Nintendo have been produced in Japan since 1997.

The Game That Started a Legend!
The first Zelda game ever released. This game was like no other. It was the first game to include directions to move, other than side scrolling, you could move up and down as well. It was also one of the biggest adventure games of it's time. I mean the game had a save feature, which was new at the time, it was that big! It contained nine action-packed dungeons to explore, each with a boss at the end (the final boss being Ganon). There were swords and items to find, and princesses to save. Time …

Note: I will try to post more often but not so much in this community at the moment. I have roms on the Wii that I can use to review some older Nintendo games and can buy them on the virtual console, but as is the definite case for the Genesis, I don't have the older consoles, so I can honestly review a game until I have played it recently. I'm sure you can understand that I can't review what I don't have. I'm nineteen and until I'm on my own after university, my …

The premire search and adventure game and it's and undeniable classic. Move Link around hyrule collecting bombs rubies and more. That labyrinth music is still chilling.
