Composed of mother, Kate, and daughters, Lindsay and Emily, this trio shows their many different sides on their debut EP. Kate was singing when the kids were born. At around age 12, Lindsay joined her mom on stage. After the duo moved to Nashville, EMily joined with her guitar making the trio Lucy Angel. Their first EP "Lucy Angel" was released last November. The EP starts off with a kickass country-rock single "Serious" and ends with an emotional ballad "I'd Be Lying", but the three songs in between are just as good! The problem with country music now-a-days is that there are so many up and coming artists that it is simply too hard to buy all your favorite songs! I would definitely recommend these songs for purchase though!
"I'll Be Your Whiskey" - Written by songwriting geniuses Brett James and Hillary Lindsey, this would be my first choice as a new single for the band. With lyrics like "It doesn't matter what you keep pouring in you cup, it's never strong enough/I'll be your whiskey when you're dry" you can feel what the characters of the songs are feeling. The girls are able to deliver the song in such a way that you are placed right in the song with them. I would put this song as the standout track on the album!
"Only Woman Left" - This song, written by Sarah Buxton, was the debut single by the trio. The song's message is saying if you just want to have fun, find someone else! These girls are looking for true love in this song.
I think all of the songs are radio worthy, but will this trio be able to stand out in the industry in the sea of other newcomers? Only time will tell.
