I used to work at McDonalds in high school, and the coffee there was what turned me onto coffee in the first place. If it's fresh, which is a big key, it's actually pretty good. If you're in a rush and either there's no drive-thru coffee places or they're all jammed, try McDonalds coffee. Sometimes it's worth it if you do have the time though to ask for them to brew you a new pot, usually it takes about 2 minutes and then you know you have fresh coffee. Not the best, but decent.

Just curious, have you tried any of their new coffee drinks? I haven't but I have been meaning to. Good point on freshness being the key.
The only downside of their coffee is that you will not always get a fresh cup like Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. I think both of those places have rules on how old the coffee can be before they have to make a new batch. McDonalds will sell it until it is gone before making more. The price is great - go in the morning to get fresh coffee.
They've recently gotten all these new types of coffees... I tried one once, and it was OK, but expensive too.... not quite as expensive as Starbies, but close!
