Michelangelo's Last Painting is entitled Christ On The Cross. The painting is lost according to the British Museum What remains is a black chalk drawing of Christ On The Cross. This painting is the focal point of the novel. The painting is a gift from Michelangelo to a wealthy Italian widow named Vittoria Colonna in the sixteenth century. I never thought that such an old religious drawing could contain images of Adolf Hitler and Osama Bin Laden. This is an amazing and scary thought Andrew Boemi makes me believe that this could be a possibility throughout most of this book. Each chapter of this book is set in a different locale. One chapter is set in Lake Como in Italy near the Italian Alps. Another chapter is set in the British Museum in London. I would love to visit these gorgeous places. Another thing I learned from this book is how art work is analyzed. A painting is analyzed and appraised by looking at the age of the canvass, the quality of the wood, and of the pigment in the painting. This book sparks my curiosity to look at other paintings and learn more about them. There is a reference to another painting entitled St. Mark Defending Venice Against Satan. The title of this painting makes me want to see what this looks like. This painting depicts Venice as a woman who helps St. Mark. A passion for art brings a man named Richard and a woman named Sao together. The theme of romance is always interesting to me. I enjoyed this book very much.
