Microsoft's ship is currently being helmed by Captain Jack Sparrow seeking to dump shitloads of moolah into uncharted territories. Avoiding some of the more obvious steps such as:

- Getting Microsoft Office into the cloud (hey, I just felt a book idea coming on!)
- Shutting down their games hardware division
- Fixing Windows

... Microsoft has leapt straight to the World's End by purchasing Skype for around $50 per user. There are some problems with this valuation:

- eBay just dumped Skype for a massive loss having discovered they had no idea what they were doing.
- I think I've spent around $0.15 on Skype over the years as my British friends and family installed the application and made all my calls free.
- Google just added calling to Gmail - the quality is better and I think they probably spent 0.01% to get there.

So I presume it won't be long until there's an anti-trust settlement for Microsoft bloat-waring Skype into the Windows operating system? You heard it here first on Lunch.com.

FIVE THINGS MICROSOFT SHOULD DO INSTEAD OF BUYING SKYPE

As Avril Lavigne so eloquently stated, "All my life I've been good but now, I'm thinking 'What the hell'" much like the development team on Windows. Please, please do the following for Windows 8:

1. Get the start-up time down to the target 15 seconds as always promised in those Batshit Ballmer promo presentations.
2. Make Windows Explorer multi-threaded so I don't have to wait for it check every single network connection and CD drive before opening a file.
3. Change the start button's list back to the Windows XP style.
4. Figure out how the networking should actually work.
5. Bring back clippy. We miss him.
