Return of the Minions

DESPICABLE ME is a charming little movie with a lot of heart and just a tint of Addam's Family macabre. Yet, much of the success of the film comes from the little yellow minions that serve Gru. After seeing the movie, I thought to myself that I would love to see more of the minions, perhaps in their own occasional tv specials. The minions haven't gotten their own tv show, yet. However, they do have a few shorts of their own collected together in MINION MADNESS. MINION MADNESS features the minions in three short (about 6 minutes each) films.

"Orientation Day" – three new minions have joined the ranks of Gru's forces and their first day on the job is orientation day. They get to sit through boring introduction and training films just like workers in many other jobs.

"Home Makeover" – while Gru is away, someone from the adoption agency is going to be making a stop at the house. So, Margo, Edith, and Agnes with lots of help from the minions do everything they can to turn Gru's house into a "family safe" environment.

"Banana" – apparently minions love fruit as illustrated in this short where the rest of the minions hound one more minion who has brought a banana for lunch.

This DVD isn't for everyone. It was originally produced as a bonus feature for the DESPICABLE ME DVD. However, it's now being sold separately. Kids will probably enjoy these shorts as will any adults who love the slapstick physical humor of olden days (think The Three Stooges). Others might find the sketches amusing, but not worth the price of admission. I enjoyed these shorts because I think the minions are one of the best things in DESPICABLE ME.
The DVD also includes a series of "carnival" games that can be played in "Super Silly Fun Land Games" with your remote.

somehow I had a feeling they were going to do something like this because of the popularity of the minions, I didn't know that they actually went through with it. Thanks!
