Too much fun for such a serious book

No one comes close to Sapolsky in having fun with genetics and evolutionary science. This set of essays is just a blast.  He is a great writer and a solid scientist (a rare combination) and MonkeyLuv is filled with insights worth reading and well supported by his research.

His exploration of the interaction between genetics, individuals, small groups and populations is about as good as I've seen, and while this book is certainly to be shelved under "popular science" (not necessarily (though often) a pejorative) Sapolsky is so brilliant, and so brilliantly funny that it is not to be forsaken just for being accessible.
