Multiracial
By Jason Standart
Alone, confused, out of place
Like in space
Why can’t I be a part of this or that race
Mexican, Filipino, and white that is me
Yet I am not accepted in any of the three
My eyes are to Asian, and my skin is to light
Yet I’m to ethnic looking to call myself white
A life long struggle with my identity
When will I see in the mirror who is me
When will I see a man who’s all three
Lumpia and Enchiladas, this is my background
Yet because I’m not full I live in the background
Yes I am mixed with three different races
And when you look at me you’ll see three different faces
We have the same beliefs and share the same blood
But because I look different you call me a mud-blood
I know who I am I don’t need your approval
There is no such thing as ethnic removal
Mexican, Filipino, and white this is me
I do not choose to be one, because I’m all three.
