My husband and I have been fortunate enough to have made several visits to Paris. There is so much that is wonderful about the city, but I think my absolutely favorite place is the Musee National du Moyen Age, the museum of the middle ages. Also known as the Cluny, due to its location in the former Hotel of the abbots of Cluny, the jewel in its collection is the stunning series of tapestries, The Lady and the Unicorn. But this beautiful building, the finest that remains from its time period, houses innumerable other treasures. As an added attraction, beneath the medieval edifice are the well preserved ruins of extensive Roman baths. Located on the Left Bank at 6 place Paul-Painlevé, a stone's throw from the Sorbonne, the Cluny is not to be missed by anyone with an interest in medieval history.
