Jerry Kiernan's "Ocean Wanderer" cluttered my mind with questions. While listening to the album, I wondered if Kiernan was attempting to mimic the way the seas can quickly change from peaceful to violent, how long periods of dead wind can ruin a day of sailing, or if he was just trying to cram as many different styles on a CD as possible.
I'm sure Kiernan is an excellent guitarist, but this album doesn't highlight his skill. Instead, it feels almost as if he is trying too hard to impress listeners. Also, I received no real feelings of being at sea, under the ocean or even at the beach.
