I loved mine. What pets they are!!Fantastic!! BUT, mine was a bully as he got older, oh ya....he'd bark & growl & bite at the door if anybody came to the door!! lol.........I couldn't break him. He stole 2 lbs of hamburg off the table, and trust me,there was no getting it back from him & he woofed it in like seemed like 10 secs.!!!
I had him trained to paper in the house...yup!! You know, I was use to little dogs...never dreamed he would get so big!!Well, there was a problem in the neighborhood where the police were investigating about it w, everyone..well, when the cop was in my house,sitting in the kitchen...the newspaper for Benji was behind the cop hahahaha....Benji decided he had to go potty, and let me tell you, it was not a short while !!! and the cop stopped writing, stared into space hahahaha,at the end said, man,pretty soon you will need to get the New York times for him!!!
Besides that stuff!!he was over protective of me, and my daughter picked up my rings one day , (after all , Benji had teethed on that ring) so he bit my daughter's hand..not bad, nipped her ....he loved to go for car rides, loved to go for ice cream........ummmmmmmm he became a border patrol dog sniffing out drugs(Canadian border.
Summing up about the English sheep dog...you have to train them young,very strict & rigid training, maybe even obedience school....as the breeders said, they had taken their dogs to obedience training school.I didn't.....who would of thunk? They are great dogs as pets if trained !!!and beautiful to say the very least!! Love them but can't have one!!! Joan
