In the entirety of my nearly thirty-six years on this planet, I have yet to own a pair of PUMA shoes.....until now. Normally I'm a New Balance kinda guy, wearing them until they fall apart. When my last pair of New Balance sneakers did just that, I decided to live a bit on the wild side and purchased a pair of PUMA's Pumagility Speed Cross-Trainers. I don't know if it was the combination of lime green and dark grey or the massive PUMA logo emblazoned on the "big toe" side of the shoe, but I was immediately attracted to these shoes.
My intention for buying a new pair of shoes wasn't for working out. I have a pair of Under Armour trainers for that purpose (and they are excellent). No, my intention was to have a shoe that was comfortable, fun to wear, and could handle the hazards that await my feet at amusement parks, shopping malls, museums, or any other place my feet might take me. In other words, I wanted a shoe to walk around in and not be in pain the entire time.
These trainers are the perfect fit for just those needs. I've worn them for over a month now each and every time I go to the store, hang out with friends, or play Laser Tag. They have a wide sole that handles impact quite nicely and the primarily mesh upper keeps my feet cool while I'm on the move. They are extremely lightweight, and the bright colors make me feel "cooler" than my usual dull black and white or dark blue shoes that my wife swears have become my signature shoe colors (she's right).
I also like the fact that PUMA packs their shoes in a minimal amount of cardboard and actually come with a handy bag to carry the shoes around in instead of your standard shoebox. The tote is reusable and can hold any type of shoe (not just PUMAs).
Overall, this is a comfortable shoe that gives me plenty of support and stability. They've made me a believer in PUMA, and I'll be sure to by more of their shoes in the future.
