Now, I'll be the first to admit that Paris Blues jeans are not chic. Try as they might, even with their attempt at Continental cool (um, they're definitely not from Paris), the jeans aren't sparkling with hip new designs. But they're fantastic for an entirely different reason: They are women's jeans that actually fit women's bodies. That's why I decided to write this review, even before any review for Levi's 501, Diesel or any other jeans. This is a brand that you can actually wear if you, like me, don't have the same body type as the hardy goldminers of '49. For that reason, I give Paris Blues my "thumb's up."
Paris Blues are the kind of jeans brand that you find at department stores. They always seem to be in stock in Junior's sections at Macy's and Nordstrom's Brass Plum. When you try them on, the hips and the thighs *fit right* -- a splendid feeling. They're usually pretty affordable, though often a few seasons behind in fashion. But I do not mean that they have hideous designs -- and, sometimes, they're pretty cute. They just don't reach that (almost unbearable) sense of edgy cool made mainstream by American Apparel and companies of that ilk.
Despite the corny name, Paris Blues is a good company.
