Wiki

PdaNet has been one of the most popular software for Windows Mobile phones, Palm OS phones, Blackberry, iPhones, and the Android phones. Unlike other tethering software that only supports Proxy connections or through a third-party server, PdaNet provides you with direct and full Internet access so all your email and instant message programs will work without any setting changes. Just like the old PdaNet, it is as simple as clicking on the PdaNet tray icon and your computer will go online instantly at 3G speed. Supports both USB Tether and Bluetooth DUN.

PdaNet does NOT require root access or hacking your phone's firmware in order to work. It is just a regular application that works on most smartphones as-is. Tethering is fast, secure and USB mode will also charge your phone at the same time. Your phone can either connect to 3G data, WiFi, or even through VPN and PdaNet will share the connection with your computer.

Tethering definition

Tethering is the use of a mobile device such as a mobile phone to supply Internet access for another device which is otherwise unconnected, using the mobile device as a modem. This can be done through Bluetooth wireless technology or cables (such as USB).

Tethering has been used to gain access to the Internet since mobile devices started using their networks to give users Internet access, but has increased in prevalence due to Internet connectivity in modern cell phones and laptops.
