PS3 Eye Camera Mounting Clip - A very, very, helpful accessory

Like so many others who purchased the Sony Move, I encountered the problem on where exactly to put it. For those who do not own the PS3 Move, it comes with an accessory called the Eye Camera, in which, this is the piece that senses the motion controller. The performance of the controller is all based on the positioning, and how well you secure the eye. If the eye isn't properly placed, it can have a negative effect on the controls, which hampers the game play greatly. I especially noticed this with the game The Shooter.

The instructions for the Move does state that the Eye Camera must be centered on top of the TV. I had an issue where the piece would slip, or it just didn't balance right. I tried placing it on the bottom in front of the TV, but the controller response wasn't very good, plus it has a long wire connecting to the PS3, which gives off an untidy appearance.

I recently purchased the PS3 Eye Camera Mounting Clip made by Performance Designed Products (PDP), and it definitely solved my problem. The accessory is suppose to be centered on a flat screen TV, and the base of the Eye Camera must be placed inside of the mounting clip.

Setting up the mounting clip is easy, it opens up and it can be fitted on top of the TV. If your button set up is on the top of your TV, then the base of the clip can open up covering the middle portion of it. The bottom is a smooth piece of plastic that doesn't appear to scratch the finish on the TV. But to be on the safe side when cleaning, it might be wise to remove it. There is a flexible notch on the clip that can be slightly risen, in order to slide the flat base of the Eye Camera into it, and the camera fits in perfectly. This also helps hide the wire from the camera, since it will now be in the back of the TV. From there, you can begin to adjust your Move Controller to the camera.

The accessory is so easy to work that the company was generous enough NOT to include an instruction manual. Instead, there's a small piece of paper with a web address and phone number to get the manual. No matter how easy something may be to operate, a manual is mandatory because I'm sure someone will have trouble figuring it out at first. The box comes with an example on the back on what the end result should look like, and looking at my TV, I say it's about perfect.

I'm very pleased with this product but I do think it's kind of a rip off, that it's not included with the bundle. I know these companies need to make their profit, but sometimes they can be too cheap. I highly recommend picking this up together with the move bundle. It will save you a headache trying to adjust your controller to the eye.
