Phantasy Star II (ファンタシースターII 還らざる時の終わりに, Fantashī Sutā II Kaerazaru Toki no Owari ni^?) is a console role-playing video game developed by Sega AM7 and released for the Sega Mega Drive in Japan in 1989. It was also released for the Mega Drive in Europe and the Genesis in America in 1990. It is the second entry in Sega's Phantasy Star series that began in 1987 on the Master System.
Since its release, Phantasy Star II has gained a cult following and is regarded by many critics to be one of the greatest and most influential role-playing video games of all time.^[citation
