2008 Pontiac Grand Prix

I've been in love with Pontiac's line of cars since the mid 1980's, when one of my aunts purchased a purple Firebird.  I thought it was the coolest car I'd ever seen & have wanted one ever since.  In the mid 1990's my parents bought a 1988 Grand Prix from that same aunt.  My mom drove it for a few years then my parents signed the car over to me when I went away to college.  It was a nice car, even more than 10 years later, & one I didn't feel embarrassed to drive.  I drove the heck out of that car until if finally went kaput in 2005, at the ripe old age of 17.  I vowed that I would someday own a new Grand Prix.

My next vehicle was a 1993 GMC Jimmy.  It's not a bad car in it's own right.  It ran well & got me where I needed to go, even if it wasn't much to look at & had no AC.  Last fall, I finally decided to buy a new car.  I knew that Pontiac wasn't making the Grand Prix anymore (HUGE mistake!) & was switching over to the Australian made G8,  so I figured I'd end up with a G6.

Well, I didn't get the G6.  I decided on a pre-owned 2008 Grand Prix & I am so happy with this car.  I wish I could've afforded to buy the GXP version, which has the V8 engine.  I went with practicality & stayed with the standard version (V6, 3.8L) with no frills.

The Grand Prix is one of the sharpest looking cars out there.  It is  fun to drive & it's got enough power to get up & go when I need it.  The ride is smooth & quiet & I get pretty good gas mileage.  I don't usually have to ride in the back seat but if I ever need to, it has plenty of room for my long legs.  The trunk is quite spacious, as well.  I've got an electronic display that tells me gas mileage, tire pressure, date/time, temperature, & lots of other technical stuff.  CD player & am/fm radio is standard.

Once again, I love this car & I can take pride in driving my beautiful, well-built, American-made car.
