Corporations, countries, individuals all crave to be at the top of the hierarchy in life. That is to put it simply. It is a temptation to have power in one's hands. The history of mankind as well as different races have demonstrated this elusive nature of human's ability. Many a times, the more one craves for it, the more elusive it becomes. We have also seen it in the animal kingdom. It may well be our survival instinct depends on it (partly).
