I first saw Goldfinger as a young adolescent with two other boys my age. We laughed when we first heard the name "Pussy Galore" mentioned. We clearly understood what it meant and given that the movie came out in 1964 it is amazing that such a term was able to make it to the screen. "You can turn off the charm, I'm immune" is a nice way of saying what the book Goldfinger said outloud, shes a lesbian. Bond was mucho man enough to turn her. Great character.
Looking back on when some of the Bond films were made I am amazed they got away with some of the characters names. It just doesn't get any more metaphorically graphic for Bond's character than "Pussy Galore"!!! I love it, second best is "Chu Me" in "Man with the Golden Gun" I think.
Her and Bond's tussle in the barn was quite a scene for a young impressionable boy. That, her name and her looks made her my favorite Bond girl. Pussy: "My name is Pussy Galore." Bond: "I must be dreaming."
