I haven't been a big beer drinker for probably over 10 years. Wine has been more my choice when i'm looking for an adult beverage. But we've had a couple of gastro pubs (Simmzy's which i have reviewed and Brewco) open up in downtown Manhattan Beach, and they both serve many boutique beers on tap. This is a very well balanced IPA. I love hops but sometimes IPAs and double-IPAs can have that in-your-face-hop-pop that is a bit reminiscent of skunk. With Racer 5 you get that initial punch of hop followed by a floral, honey bloom that tapers into a green apple bite. It's 7% abv in case that matters to you.
