Still a good game, but I felt I played this game before

Ratchet & Clank series has been a staple on the Playstation platform for the past several years, however, I never played any of the R&C games on the PS2, and I only got into the series when Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction for PS3 was released, and that was one of my favorite games for PS3, it was a fun action platformer with a lot of charm, and I was pretty much hooked the whole time I was playing it.  So I picked up the latest entry in the R&C series on its release day.

Like the other R&C games, this game has a very distinct style, very reminiscent of a 3D animated movie, and it ran very smoothly, one of the big draw for the series has been the plethora of crazy weapons, and A Crack in Time doesn't disappoint, some of them are so batshit insane, you can't help but laugh when you first use them.  Also the weapons now seem to level up a lot faster, so you always felt that you are making progress, and the game is also a lot more open-ended then before, so you can visit different planets and do a bunch of side quests, which may or may not be a good thing for some people, I personally like the Tools of Destruction's more focusd story telling more than this game, but others might like the freedom that this game offers.  And the game also added a lot of time-based puzzles when you are playing as Clank, basically you can control time using a device, so Clank can do something and then you can "rewind" time and the "past" clank  can interact with you to achieve different goals, it's ingenious and very cool when you finally figured out how to solve some of the more difficult puzzles.

However, for some reason, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time just didn't hook me the way Tools of Destruction did, I can't put my finger on it, the game looks gorgeous and controls great, and the cartoony style and humor is still there, but somehow I just wasn't all that into this game, I think this is because the game just felt like an expansion of Tools of Destruction, even though the developers definitely added new features and made improvements, everything from the graphics to the gameplay felt very much the same.  I think if I haven't played Tools of Destruction, I would probably love this game a lot more.
