How many books do you you typically read at once? And if multiple, do you have any (increased) difficulty keeping the characters, plots, locales, etc. in order?

When I have the time, I usually read 2-3 books at a time unless one of them has me incredibly interested/addicted then, I won't put that one down. I don't usually have any difficulty keeping them in order. When I go back to the first book, I'll have to go back a couple of pages to refresh my memory and get me back into the story.

I usually keep two books going at the same time. One is usually a full length book (novel, biography) and the other will be a self-help or other type book that I can jump around in (meaning it doesn't need to be read sequentially from cover to cover). That second read is usually kept near the bed for the times when there is nothing to watch on tv and I don't want to sleep.

I usually have 5 books going at once. Generally, one computer science, one mathematics, one history/business, one sports fiction and one fiction of some other kind.

Good question! Usually I start a book, read 50 pages, put it down, then see another book I like, read the first few chapters put that down and go back to the original in an attempt to finish it! Lately nothing has been keeping my attention:)
