It's the Build-A-Bear of Remote Controlled Cars.

I was in the Store RideMakerz in South Carolina at Broadway at the beach. I have always had interest in remote controlled cars and decided to give this place a look. If anyone is familiar with the Build-A-Bear chain, this is owned by the same company. The place is all about customization of your dream car with the body kit and even down to the tire hub caps.

If you pick up a brochure from one of the Broadway at the beach help desks, you may be able to save $5 dollars off the car however. That $5 dollars may come in handy cause this place is not cheap. The body kit itself is at a cheap price of $20 dollars if you want a name brand like Scion, or $30 for a Chevrolet body kit. They do have body kits for $10 dollars, but these are no frills kits. The good idea about this place is customization of a dream car in remote controlled form, however I am not happy with price or the selection of body kits. I am true to Chevrolet 3 of 4 cars I drive for real were Chevy and this store only has one Chevy Corvette, Dodge Viper, Scion, and Ford Mustang body kit.

I did wind up spending close to $90 dollars on a car with a Viper body, back fuel tips, a wing spoiler, tires with plastic gold dragon hub caps, and number stickers for the car. The car does move well and you can buy new parts for it online, which is the only way to buy if you do not live in the southern U.S area. The car does run like a normal remote controlled car however since its plastic parts break easily. So I am happy with the company but not thrilled is why i rate this store  +3.

Oh man, I used to love all those hobby stores when I was kid where you could see people race the remote-controlled cars they built....this sounds like a dream! I'll have to check it out if I'm ever in the area!

I know the ones your talking about these are kinda lower grade because the remote controlled cars i saw once were powered by some kind of fuel not sure what cause i only really have had battery powered ones.

What??? I had no idea that stores like this exist!  I love Build-a-Bear and I love building toy cars (use to build those not-motorized Japanese ones), so I'll have to check these out if I ever found myself in the Southern U.S.  Thanks for sharing! :)

Yeah i do like the idea of the creating your own cars however I was upset only about the price and selection. Cause I drive a Chevy Cobalt 08 and was upset that they didn't have it. The price i have to say is pretty standard but i expected more Chevy kits like a Camaro.
