Touted as the most luxurious hotel in Guangzhou, I found myself at Ritz Carlton for dinner one night. Dinner was perfect at the Chinese Restaurant but before that, the Concierge marred my near perfect experience. I asked for direction to a foreign bank, either Citibank or HSBC but make the mistake of telling her I wasn't a room guest here. She immediately turned from a friendly staff to one that's not attentive even though she had no other guests at that moment in time. As far as I'm concerned, that's totally unprofessional and a big mistake for a Concierge in ANY Ritz Carlton hotel. I don't care if I'm staying there that night, I'm still a guest and had been one at other Ritz Carlton. Whatever her reason, I'm also a Marriott Rewards customer and since RC now belong to the Marriott, that's an absolute no-no attitude! That's the main reason why I'm giving it a +4 and not +5. In any case, whoever that walks into a hotel is a potential guest. Staff needs to be attentive no matter what!
