I installed this on a computer running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit and encountered no difficulty.     Like so many software suites that try to perform many functions, Roxio Creator 2010 is a competent, but not stellar performer in several areas. Video and photo editing are both better left to more specialized and powerful programs, though this will do for simple tasks in a pinch. Conversion of video formats works, but again specialized programs do it better. Burning optical …

When I first tried to install this disk, it wouldn't work. I put it aside for a couple of days then got an email from Roxio with a new installation key. That allowed me to get the software up and running.     I'm mostly a Mac user and have used Roxio's Toast program, which is roughly similar to this software, so I didn't need a lot of help getting it running. It's nice to be able to do some basic video and audio capture editing when I'm using Windows. It's slow, though, which …

Roxio may be more familiar for dubbing tools, but the Roxio Creator is very nice for putting together videos and photo slideshows.     Creator is set up for speed and ease of use, so it directs you toward its automatic tools. You can put together a slideshow of your holiday snaps in minutes -- and if you resist the temptation to choose too many options at once, it'll be nice, too.     Online training is available, and it's very clear.     I …

I have been a user of the Roxio "Creator" software since the days before Roxio - when it was "Adaptec Easy CD Creator" (no DVDs back then!) I've more or less kept up with the product over the years, though the last one I bought was "Version 9". Clearly there isn't really a lot that can be new in the way of straightforward CD and DVD burning, but Roxio Creator, like its rival Nero, has gradually added more media-centric features such as audio and video editors and players, backup utilities and more. …

Well, the title pretty much sums up my opinion of this software. I first tried to install it on one of my test PCs (an older PC that I use to test out new software). It's a few years old, but not ancient - a dual core system running XP SP3 with 2GB RAM. It failed to install - just aborted midway with a error message that it was missing a module.     Even though the test PC runs a lot of fairly advanced applications, I wanted to give Roxio the benefit of the doubt and blamed the …

Previously I was using the basic Roxio that came pre-installed on my computer. What a big difference from a basic program to a program that pretty much does anything you can think of when it comes to using your burner. The initial install took forever. It took approximately 50 minutes to install the program. That included re-booting my computer after the install and the automatic update (released October 2009 & another January 2010) that came up once the programmed was started. From the looks of …

Roxio Creator 2010 makes a good replacement for old versions of Nero.    Creator 2010 is surprisingly easy to use and includes video tutorials to walk you through several procedures that you may not be familiar with.    For data backup I found the compression and encryption features work well. Creating an encrypted disk results in a disk with a "retrieve" program on it so in the future (or on another PC) you don't need to worry about not having the appropriate …
