A very violent anime about a guy with a huge sword chopping …
Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi revolves around Ritsu Onodera and his quest to get and be successful in the publishing business. He happens to apply and get a job in the Shoujo manga department. The series starts out fast with him and Masamune Takano, his boss, trying to help a manga writer through a difficult scene. This leads to Takano and Onodera reenacting a kissing scene, thusly shocking Onodera.

This brings us to an interesting plot with Onodera being shocked at his boss though seemingly to possibly falling in love with him, and a combination of how this shoujo manga department works. Without going into spoilers, the anime picks up pace with Takano telling Onodera that he was his first love back in their high school days, which after a one night event (there is an OVA on it), Onodera commits to never loving again. Takano then swears the he will do whatever it takes to get Onodera to love him again.
Thusly, three episodes in the anime follows a ridge pattern, Onodera being conflicted with his own promise though still, clearly, having some feelings for Takano, Takano being a cold supervisor but out to see the best from his workers and his authors he manages, and Onodera working on getting acquainted with manga. I think some parts of the plot fall through, but the Takano and Onodera interaction is pretty nice to see, as well as Onodera's struggles with his own feelings and dealings with Takano. This definitely keeps me hooked for this 12 episode series.

Ultimately, if that sounded like a pleasing plot and one is looking for a shouju, then perhaps check out Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi. It is enjoyable.
