Shakira is one who relies on her music, dancing, and singing and has very little glitz in her performances. This one is from Paris and she performs in English, Spanish and even French. She has very few wardrobe changes and is barefoot throughout, with very little makeup and very simple clothing. Some of her really good songs (Estoy Aqui and Don't Bother) are missing but she performs all her big hits.

During the credits it said that the performance was filmed over two days. The crowd was really into it and Shakira seemed to speak to them in flawless French. It is these little nuances along with the way she shakes her hips that make her an excellent performer who doesn't rely on special effects and fancy costumes. The main special effect was a big talking head that appeared on the big tv screen behind her but this is tame compared to other artists.

I especially liked her performances of I'm a Gypsy and Ciega Sordo Mudo. At times she let the audience sing some of the lyrics. During the performance of Waka Waka we say a short video of several African children talking about what they want to be when they grow up. She had an excellent partner who sang with her on Hips Don't Lie and La Tortura.

The extas were nice, showing rehearsals in other cities, a 17 year old girl who sings exactly like Shakira, a race with the performers on burros and Shakira playing golf.

Overall an excellent value for the price and an excellent complilation of most of her hit songs.
