In terms of airports serving the domestic markets in China, this has to be the best one around. It was quite shabby in the past and overly crowded but was relocated in 2010 before the Expo and the new terminal is now as good as the Pudong Airport which is more than double the distance from the city of Puxi. Hongqiao is a lot more convenient for passengers arriving/leaving domestically. However, tickets are normally more expensive than if you arrive/leave from Pudong where the domestic sectors are concerned. Then again, you ended up spending more money on taxi if you arrive/leave at/from Pudong!
