I love Sharpies. Not for their price but for their variety and convenience. Fine point tips are awesome for regular handwriting, the medium tips are excellent for underlining or just making a point and the super fat markers are perfect for posters, street art and self-administered psuedo-tatttoos.

My favorite thing is the range of colors. They're the crayola of the marker world with salmon pinks, golden pancake brown, mint green or even mango. Hands down the best.
