2005 non-fiction book by Joseph Romm
Since 1892, the Sierra Club has been working to protect communities, wild places, and the planet itself. They are the oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organization in the United States. The Sierra Club has six main focuses: curbing carbon, moving beyond coal, clean energy solutions, green transportation, resilient habitats, and safeguarding communities. Their blog includes helpful topics such as ideas for living well, information on climate change, wilderness & public land concerns, and they even have a youth blog for the younger generation of environmentalists.
Sierra club also has a National Outings program, designed to match volunteers with enviromental and community projects throughout the nation and the world. It has been awarded 2008 Best Travel Companies on Earth by the editors of National Geographic Adventure Magazine.
